I was born and raised in Summit County, Ohio in the Cuyahoga River Valley. As a child I showed great passion for fishing, and had ample opportunity to practice as my family spent most weekends boating on Lake Erie. My first bow was a 40 lb fiberglass Outers bought at a garage sale when I was 12, which started my interest in archery….and it wasn’t long before I was bow fishing for carp every spring. After high-school I attended Bowling Green State University where I graduated with an English Education degree…and then started teaching and coaching in Fremont, Ohio. Soon I was duck hunting in Sandusky Bay with a young, driven Golden Retriever…which really accelerated my interest in hunting. After 5 years of teaching, coaching and hunting…I worked on my advanced degrees at Bowling Green while working for the University as Teaching Assistant. It was during this time I began varmint hunting in the flat Northwest Ohio beanfields when time permitted. After finishing my degrees, I moved to North East Ohio and started working for Rockwell Automation. I rediscovered archery, developing not only a serious passion for bowhunting, but also for target archery. In 2001, Rockwell Automaton moved me to the Bay Area where I have been ever since, ultimately settling in Livermore, getting married and raising a family. My family very much appreciates the outdoors and archery, as well as the many fish and game opportunities that California provides. Outside of work I’m currently a staff shooter for Archery Only in Newark, CA where you often can find me working on my archery game, coaching others…and sharing hunting experience.
